B1: About Me

Hi, I am Anissa Rae Kostulas. I’m from a small town in Westchester, New York. My major is New Media Production, and I am minoring in Marine Biology. Coming to the University of Tampa has always been a huge goal of mine. Working so hard in high school has pushed me to follow my passion in art as a whole. After high school I decided to go to Florida to begin working with photography, filming, music and art. Music influences me to get a feel while doing my artwork as well as enlightening me to new ideas. I am a professional dancer and have performed in Disney World, Madison Square Garden, The Barclays Center, and on the T.V show, Wonderama. I have put many thoughts into my artwork and have a very unique style. By minoring in marine biology I will hopefully be able to incorporate my photography and artwork skills into the marine scenery. I have always loved sea animals and the University provides me with exactly the degree that works for my desired future.
I joined the class, Art & Technology because it caught my attention and seemed interesting. There is always an art class but this also connects with technology which I find intriguing. Art always has a deeper meaning that I love to explore. When I draw, I embrace my feelings and it releases stress. Making art is my favorite activity to embrace. Dance is as well a type of art, it is a masterpiece full of ideas, movements, and collaborations put together. I have been making art through drawing, dancing, painting and more since I was a little girl and I plan to continue for the rest of my life. It's something that has always been a part of me.
In this class, I expect to be able to use my own imagination on my work. I expect to use my  creativity and show it throughout each project. I want to be able to make my art work as weird as I want it and for the teacher or students to appreciate different types of art. Being able to show myself through artwork means so much to me. Everyone has different thoughts running through their mind every day and being able to project them into a drawing or a video, etc. allows the individual to explore different parts of their brain. Art is so passionate to me and I can't wait to begin the first project. I'm excited for all the projects, especially the performance, where I can make a video and put audio into it. I plan to dance through water fountains in downtown Tampa, in a skin color leotard and I can't wait to see strangers reactions. This is going to be the most exciting course for me and I can't wait to express myself into artwork.
